Davido Paternity Dispute: Teen’s Mother Wants US State Department-Supervised DNA Test Against Previous Results

The mother of a teenage girl claiming to be the daughter of Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has challenged earlier DNA test claims and announced plans to seek international oversight to establish the truth about her daughter’s paternity.

In a statement shared on Thursday via her daughter’s Instagram page, the woman, who identified herself as Ayo Labinjoh, said her daughter, Anu Adeleke, is not seeking financial gain or publicity but wants clarity about her biological identity.

Labinjoh said the prolonged public controversy surrounding the paternity claim has taken a severe emotional toll on the teenager, who she said has faced years of bullying, online attacks, and psychological distress.

According to her, Anu has reportedly fainted on several occasions at school and has undergone psychotherapy as a result of the sustained scrutiny and pressure linked to the dispute.

She explained that her daughter personally requested a DNA test solely to resolve lingering questions about her parentage, stressing that the decision was rooted in emotional well-being rather than fame or monetary benefits.

The statement accompanied a screen recording of what Labinjoh described as a private conversation between Anu and Davido. In the exchange, the award-winning singer denied paternity and maintained that DNA tests had already been conducted.

During the conversation, Anu reportedly asked Davido to provide copies of the results from the five DNA tests he claimed had been carried out. Davido allegedly responded that he would release the results publicly and warned that legal action could be taken against her mother.

Labinjoh accused the singer of using language she described as abusive and bullying, saying the exchange further harmed her daughter’s mental health.

She also alleged irregularities in earlier DNA testing processes, claiming that a blood sample collected from Anu in 2014 was discarded without being tested, while a different result was later presented as authentic.

According to Labinjoh, individuals involved in the previous procedures allegedly misrepresented themselves and the outcomes of the tests, raising concerns about transparency and credibility.

The mother said she now intends to request a fresh DNA test under independent supervision, suggesting the involvement of international authorities, including the United States State Department, citing Davido’s American citizenship.
She argued that external oversight would ensure fairness, transparency, and freedom from interference in any future testing process.

The paternity dispute has lingered for several years. In January 2025, Davido’s former lawyer, Prince Bobo Ajudua, publicly addressed the matter, stating that DNA tests had been conducted at two reputable laboratories, including one selected by the girl’s family, and that the results showed Davido was not the father.
Ajudua described the continued allegations as unfair to both the Adeleke family and the child involved.

Davido also restated his position on January 15, 2026, via X (formerly Twitter), insisting that five DNA tests carried out at different facilities all returned negative results.

As of the time of filing this report, no independently supervised DNA test results have been made public.
